Water Pipe break

As in everyone’s lives, there are times when you just have to stop and take care of business. Or in this case watch someone else take care of it. We had a leaky water pipe so as Steve worked to replace the pipe; Pepper stood by and was very helpful digging holes around the hole Steve was digging. We ended up going without water for a couple of days while Steve found the leak and replaced the old pipes with new. Thankfully it was a small leak and easy to do. At least he said it was easy. 2014-09-22 17.41.44 I found an old door lying in the barn and it made a perfect sign for a customer. It will be perfect to hang on a post outside their property. This sign took a little time to make but everyone seems to think it is the best looking wood so far. There are a lot of holes and ridges in the wood and it really looks rustic. It is fun to see the difference in the wood from start to finish. The boards start out so grey and dull looking then after sanding all the beautiful colors and designs of the boards come to life.

Baking has always been something I love to do. Baking bread is always a challenge, trying to balance nutrition with flavor. This bread was made with homemade kefir, chia seeds, mixed nuts and black pepper. It tastes like sourdough bread. The pepper gives it a nice flavor.

With Peppers help the pipes got fixed, I got some work in on making the barn board signs, and made bread. All in all a pretty good day in the country.
